Efrosyni Kaligaris opened up her blue eyes as she yawned softly. She looked at her clock and it was 6:00 AM. Perfect. Efrosyni had quickly gotten up and put on her school uniform. She brushed her hair humming softly. Efrosyni was always a morning person and she shook her head laughing softly looking at her other roommates that were fast asleep. She had left her hair set down today as she ran her brush through her hair.

With a glance at her clock, it was still only 6:15. Efrosyni grabbed her sketchbook and pencil. She walked down the stairs hoping not to wake up anyone. Exiting the common room, she headed to the Astronomy Tower. Beaubaxton Palace's corridors were silent and there were not teachers or students around. Taking a left turn, Efrosyni reached the steps of the tower and jogged up the steps quickly.

The sun was already shining down this morning and made Efrosyni smile. She had loved the sun and when the weather was warm. It had reminded her of the wonderful weather of her hometown: Santorini, Greece. Efrosyni looked around and there were no classes going on at the moment. Not even the Astronomy teacher was here. Just perfect. Efrosyni smiled in approval and spotted a window sill to sit on. She heard the birds chirping softly as she sit down.

Opening a new page of her sketch book, Efrosyni took out her pencil and stared out of the view. This morning, the view was absolutely gorgeous. Efrosyni took hold of her pencil and started to sketch the view from the Astronomy Tower. She had always loved to sketch different places and people. Efrosyni continued to sketch as she enjoyed the peace and quiet of the morning.

Efrosyni looked down at the outline of her sketch and back out to her view. If only she brought her color pencils or paints this morning it would truly make her picture look magnificent then. She sighed softly, a little disappointed however that didn't stop her to continue to sketch. Efrosyni was always focused when she was drawing barely hearing any noises behind her. She had taken art seriously over the years and she loved it.

A few minutes later, Efrosyni had heard a soft music from a piano. She looked up and got off the window sill to see where the music was coming from. Right away she noticed Lucy playing on the piano. Efrosyni had smiled right away since she never heard Lucy play on the piano before. She sounded great.

Efrosyni stepped closer quietly still wanting to listen. However, she didn't want to disturb Lucy and interrupt her. She set her sketch book down next to her and listened to her play. She crossed her arms softly as she smiled enjoying the music. Efrosyni waited patiently to greet Lucy until she was at least finished or noticed her.

Efrosyni continued to listen to Lucy with a smile on her face. She had played the piano so well and Efrosyni enjoyed the music. Well, she did enjoy listening to music all the time. Back at home, the Greek villages at night played folk music and everyone would dance. It was fun however sometimes Efrosyni just loved sitting down closing her eyes listening to music. She continued to hear Lucy play and even started to sing softly. Then, she had stopped and Efrosyni was about to greet her. Lucy had turned around and grinned at her.

"Effie!"

Efrosyni smiled brightly as Lucy came up to greet her. Wow, Efrosyni hadn't seen her in awhile. She had been busy with schoolwork and Lucy probably was busy too. It was their final year and the homework load had been tiring and hard. Well, they might have passed a dozen notes already this year if they were bored in some of their classes together. Still, it wasn't the same as spending some time with her great friend. She smiled and said brightly, "Hey Lucy."

"I had no idea you were up here,"

Efrosyni looked back at Lucy. She didn't even notice come in till she started to playing the piano. She answered with a smile, "Same here until you started to play. And you play the piano so great! I never heard you play before."

"Were you drawing?"

Efrosyni returned Lucy's hug smiling brightly. She had truly missed Lucy and wondered what she had been up to. She picked up her sketch book on the floor and nodded. Efrosyni answered, "Yes, I usually come sometimes in the morning to draw. I finished the sketch already right before you played."

She opened her sketch book to show the picture. After knowing Lucy for years now she wasn't embarrassed or worried to show her the sketches she drew all the time. She smiled as she closed her book and looked back at Lucy. She asked, "So, how have you been? I haven't really talked to you in a while. It feels like ages." She laughed softly as she exaggerated but it had felt like it.

"Okay, I didn't want to interrupt your flow,"

Efrosyni laughed and smiled shaking her head. She said, "No worries. I definitely interrupted you on the piano and I'm sorry." She smiled softly to her friend and Efrosyni had felt kind of guilty on interrupting Lucy while she played the piano. However, she was really glad to catch up and chat with her best friend.

"Effie, that's really good."

Efrosyni couldn't help but smile brightly as she complimented on her drawings. Efrosyni always had loved getting complicated on her pictures especially on her drawings. It brought her in a better mood and Efrosyni knew that as a friend, Lucy was saying the truth. She smiled again and said, "Thank you."

"I know, it has been too long. This final year's so difficult,"

With a nod, Efrosyni had completely understood her. The final year was really tough. All the seventh year, including Efrosyni, have been studying and doing so much work. If Efrosyni wanted to graduate, that meant lots of work and studying for exams. She answered, "I know. I never knew that our last year will be this hard. I've been studying exam after exam. It's been very hard and tiring."

"I've been alright. How about you? Anything new been happening?"

Efrosyni smiled softly nodding as she listened to Lucy. They have both been really busy this year. Who hasn't? Efrosyni's schedule was busy trying to complete all her classes and like she said, school wasn't easy like last year. She answered, "I've been good. Just been really busy with all the studies."

She laughed softly shaking her head realizing it had only been the beginning of the year. Efrosyni didn't even want to imagine the rest of her year. Hopefully, there won't be so much work. However, for now Efrosyni shouldn't worry. She looked at the sun rise and back to Lucy with a soft smile.
