One not simply so abserd

The bright sunlight spilt owlery high up on the top floor. It wasn't really called a floor, it was a tower. A tall Seventh year was leaning on the window sill, looking out at the grounds. A handsome owl stood on his shoulder, preening her wing feathers. Sam was absentmindedly stroking her silky back as he dark eyes stared out of the open window. He wasn't really watching, not looking for anything, just staring. He was in the state of not really caring about anything, peaceful with nothing to do. The last light of the sun was catching in his dark eyes, making him looks as if fire was burning behind the dark iris. Of course it wasn't, but thats why they said looks like. If you could fire as physical not the determination type.

Okay, this was really getting dull. He'd been standing there, one leg crossed behind the other, leaning on the window sill for who knows how long. Too long for him. He straightened up, disturbing the owl and sending her swooping back over to her fellows. He ran a hand through his dark hair and brushed down his long pale coat. He had a strange thing for coats, any colour but as long as they were long. Todays one was just a plain white coat, not exactly warm, but he didn't need much of a coat to keep warm. He yawned, putting a hand over his mouth. Maybe he'd sleep, maybe he wouldn't. He couldn't really be asked to go back to his dorm, it was even more dull there.

He jumped down the last few steps into the Entrance Hall, his long coat flapping around him. He hadn't buttoned it up, just left it loose, so it fluttered out behind him as he walked out. It was practically empty, people were mostly heading in the other direction. Back to the castle, how dull. He jumped the whole of the steps onto the bright grass, looking around. Yes, he was for some reason in a pretty bouncy mood. He smiled, walking out. Okay, this would get dull soon, he needed to find something to do. His long stride took him towards the river, where most people were heading up from. His dark eyes caught a familiar face. He walked over, his long coat fluttering out behind him.
"Evenin'." He said brightly, sitting on the grass infront of the bench, looking up at Izzi from the grass.
