Welcome to Beauxbatons Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité
Académie de Magie Beauxbâtons is the only magical school in France for witches and wizards. And one of the best at that. With a history going back over a thousand years, Beauxbatons is most defiantly a favourite for the younger generation. Ever since it was opened, the school has been for both genders despite some people calling it a female school.
This year promises new students, teachers, classes and much, much more! Quidditch, homework and house rivalry is just a tiny fraction of what goes on behinds Beauxbatons closed doors.

One Step Away
First day at work, make a good impression? Yes, you should.
Jayden Petrelli studied his reflection in the mirror. He didn't usually do this as a morning ritual, but he did have to shave. And he wasn't going to do it the old fashioned way. It had been almost a week since Jamie had apparated from Italy. He'd just been to visit his big brother, Nathan. His wife Fiona, and thier daughter, Claire, had been to Paris and they'd just come back. Jamie had spent five days with Nathan. As brothers went, they were really quite close. Nathan was into politics, all high up. Jamie was different, almost opersite, he was a secretary. Junior Secratery Grade to the Minister Of Magic. He passed his hand over his chin, watching in the mirror as the shaving process was finished. It didn't take long, and Jamie straitened up afterwards. He sighed and glanced at the clock. Half past five. He had time for a run, didn't he? Course he did, and he needed to take Kimmic for a walk anyway. The mutt looked up at him with her soulful eyes. She was a real sweetheart, Kimmic. Stray and so mixed in breed she didn't really resemble anything.
Jamie opened the door and watched Kimmic shoot out infront of him. He smiled and jogged down the stairs after him. He pushed open the doors of the lobby and exited through the glass doors that led from his appartment building onto the street. Kimmic was out them in a flash and darted up the street, Jamie running behind. The two were almost a perfect match. Each seemed to have endless energy and loved the outdoors. Living on the edge of...well the middle of nowhere, the countryside was just a jog away. So that's where they went. Over the hills and far away.
Jamie got back into his appartment at six thirty. Kimmic jumped up onto one of the arm chairs and curled up, like a cat. Jamie smiled as he took a quick shower. He dried his hair with a flick of his right hand and glanced around. Should he go in now? Or should he stay out, go in later. Go in now. He stroked Kimmic's soft head and grabbed the grey jacket. Always good to look smart. He didn't go for the pure white shirt, but slightly more casual with a pale shirt. He took a look at himself in the mirror, actually for once brushing his hair. He actually didn't look half bad. He smiled at his reflection and concentrated. Vanishing on the spot.
He reappeared on site of his new job. The entrance hall was huge. Jamie had to stop and have a look around. It wasn't actually that full at seven o'clock in the morning, which suprised him. Maybe they just weren't early risers. Jamie smiled and glanced at the board. So...he was on the...Ground floor. Right ground floor. And he needed to go to the...the...Well. He needed to go to Level...Level One. Right easy, just follow the signs. So he did.
He reached the office within only one time to get lost. He looked around. Thinking about what to do. He could see his desk, amazingly it had his name on. 'Jayden Petrelli' That's his name. No douting it. The door to the main office was open. He knocked politely. No answer. Tentitivly he pushed the door open. It was empty. Right, should he be doing this? Sure, why not. Just don't get caught. He walked in, and what he'd been holding in his hand, he left on the table. He left, as silently as he could, leaving the Sushi on the desk. Who was it that had told him that the Minister liked Sushi? Couldn't remember.
He seated himself at his desk, putting his feet up on his desk, leaning back in his chair. Ah, yes, this was the life...So far.

Sienna wasn't exactly an early-morning riser herself, and she was well known for entering the Ministry quite late in the morning. In fact, the only time she was in the office before nine was either for a meeting or when she was meeting a new member of the Ministry. Today was the latter, and despite setting her alarm clock for 6am she still slept in till 7. She was surprised that her husband had not woken her, but then he knew never to wake her before 8 otherwise she threw an almighty tantrum. Quite childish really, but Sienna was not a morning person.
Rolling over in her bed, she groaned and rubbed her eyes. She clumsily made her way to the bathroom, and after having a quick shower, getting dressed and sorting her hair out she finally made it down to the kitchen. She was wearing her usual Ministry robes, her fancy ones for today, and her ginger hair was flowing down her back in curls. The house was unusually quiet, but it was September and her children were at school in Beauxbatons; which meant no more having to break-up arguments between the three kids. In fact, she could just relax for once.
After grabbing a piece of toast, she munched on it quickly and left her house. Walking down the driveway she left through the open gates and swiveled on the spot. Opening her eyes she found herself in the busy Entrance of the Ministry. That was weird, usually at 7am in the morning it wasn't this busy. Frowning slightly, she looked down at her watch and had to stop herself from groaning aloud. It was nearly half 8 already! She was well over an hour late for her goal this morning: be in the Ministry by 7am.
So much for first impressions she though, as she walked quickly towards the elevators that would eventually lead her to her office. Even though it should be her new secretary that was making the impressions, Sienna always felt she should show her new staff that she was perfectly capable of being the Minister of the French Ministry. Although many did not think it, being the Head of the magical world was pretty hard-going at times, and if you weren't careful you could be kicked off your position by the Wizengamot etc.
Finally the elevators opened up to the huge corridor that led to all the various rooms of important Ministry Staff. Si headed straight to the end of the corridor, through a door that led to another huge room, (aka the reception) and then another door into her own massive office. A weird surprise awaited her though, as she pushed open the door with one hand while trying to make sure her hair was right with the other. Obviously her new secretary was sitting at his new desk with his feet upon it. She raised an eyebrow but said nothing, quietly observing what he looked like.
'I hope this isn't your normal behavior when you're working,' Sienna said into the silence quite suddenly. She sounded serious, but the little smile that played around the corner of her lips said otherwise. Walking over to where he sat, she pushed his legs off of the desk and said to him, 'Please don't let me catch you doing that again ... at least when i'm around,' again she was joking but there was a little bit of seriousness in her voice.
Sienna pushed open the door to her office, and propped the door open so she could speak to him while she did her morning routines. 'So, you're the new secondary secretary then?' she asked him, hoping he would join her in her office. She sat down behind her desk and rummaged through the files till she found his. 'Jayden Petrelli, worked in the Ministry before in various departments. Correct?' it was more of a statement really, but it did not harm to ask him whether this information actually was correct.
A familiar smell reached Sienna's nose, and she recognized it almost immediately as the smell of sushi. A joyful smile appeared on her face as she saw the new box on her desk, and pulling out her wand she waved it and the box came levitating over to where she was. The joy of being lazy and being a witch. 'From you, I presume?' she asked another question.

One Step Away
Jamie had had just been leaning back in his chair, crossing one leg over the other. He had a habit of doing it. It was only quarter to eight. His dark eyes gave a quick scan around the room. Nothing hidden? No, his basic search charm hadn't uncovered anything. It was just something he'd been taught whilst working in the Department of Mysteries. It emmitted a carrier wave that seeked out hidden or invisible devices. Either it brought out into the open or decloaked them. Useful really. He still couldn't rely on it fully, it had been working for almost three years, but did magic wear out? Did it fade? You would think so wouldn't you.
Jamie lent his head back over the back of the chair. He could see the incredibly interesting back wall behind him. It was a wall. He sighed. He didn't quite know what to do. It was slightly embarressing. Your first day on the job and you're hanging around like a lamad. Nothing wrong with lamads, they just weren't very useful. Jamie liked to be useful. He ran a hand through his dark hair, messing it up, just that little bit. It wasn't exactly untidy now, it just looked more natural. What was he supposed to do? Well, maybe he should do something? Maybe there was a memo? On your first day? He shook his head and stretched his hands up, palms pushing up towards the cieling. He wasn't actually wearing robes, well he was, but they weren't exactly traditional. More of a suit-robe. A sube or a roit. Nevermind, he was smart though.
He heard elevator doors open with the soft hiss they made. It had opened a few times before, but he hadn't paid much attention to it. Now however, an authoritive voice spoke. He didn't jump, he was trained not to, but he did turn quite sharply.
'I hope this isn't your normal behavior when you're working. Please don't let me catch you doing that again ... at least when i'm around,'
Jamie stood up quickly, saluting. d**n, you're not Special Agent Jayden Petrelli now, just Jayden Petrelli. He sighed. It was force of habit. In the Department of Mysteries, you saluted your superiors. He sighed, not a great first impression. He'd tried so hard, and now she'd caught him with his feet on the table, and he'd saluted. That was just embarressing. He stood up to his full height. "My appologise Ma'am." He said, keeping his eyes down. Did he call her Ma'am, that's what he'd been taught to say, maybe it was inappropriate. Well, stick with what you know, it usually works.
'So, you're the new secondary secretary then? Jayden Petrelli, worked in the Ministry before in various departments. Correct?'
When she walked into her office, he wasn't sure whether to follow or not. She'd left the door open, but did she always leave the door open? But then again, why would she leave the door open in the first place, to keep an eye on her three secretaries? That was a daunting thought. Well, he hadn't exactly made an amazing impression so far, might as well just follow your instincts. "Yes, Ma'am. Four years in the Department of Mysteries. Two years with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. A year with the Department ofInternational Magical Cooperation and seven months with the Department of Magical Accidents & Catastrophes...Ma'am," He added after a pause.
'From you, I presume?'
Jamie smiled his easy-going, cheerful smile. "Yes, I was told you liked Sushi." He said, slightly awkwardly, but with the cheerful exterior, it went a long way.

Sienna ran a hand through her curly locks, cursing herself silently for not bringing a hairband. She could already sense the fact her hair was going to be annoying her immensely by the end of the day. It always did, and she would always forget to bring something to contain that lions mane of hair she had; and she'd curse herself again etc. And so on. Anyway, she thought about popping home later and actually attempting to find something to tie up her pathetic hair with. Like it would make much difference; she had always thought her hair had some kind of resistance to anyone trying to make it into a shape that resembled something. Magic never worked for her and one time she had almost shaved her hair off by mistake.
My appologise Ma'am.
'Sienna, or Mrs Freeman if you want to get technical,' she corrected him. She felt like someone far superior to anyone else when people called her Ma'am. Maybe yes, she was the Head of the Ministry in France, but she could never deal with being called posh things like that. Sienna was far from posh - she had grown up in a muggle orphanage surrounded by bullying muggles that had no idea she was the equivalent of their President/Prime Minister when she would grow up. Anyway, Si saw him salute and she raised an eyebrow slightly. Had he been with the muggle "army" or something similar? Running situations through her mind she remembered something that the Department of Mysteries taught their workers. Ah, that must of been it.
Yes, Ma'am. Four years in the Department of Mysteries. Two years with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. A year with the Department ofInternational Magical Cooperation and seven months with the Department of Magical Accidents & Catastrophes...Ma'am.
Sienna whistled slightly, 'You've had more experience than me!' she joked, getting herself comfortable in her chair. She had always loved her office, and despite being very plain it felt very homely? No, she wasn't that sad. It just felt right to be in. She had very thick, soft, deep pale carpet and when you took your shoes off your feet instantly sank into the softness of it. The walls were a darker shade of cream than the carpet, and a few pictures were hung up. A few were of her family and kids. One of her favourites sat right behind her: it was of all five of them on holiday in America one summer. The only reason she had gone there was because she had to converse with foreign leaders of Ministries like previous Ministers had done before her.
Yes, I was told you liked Sushi.
Jayden's voice jerked her out of her little memory lane trip just then, and she smiled and nodded. 'You were told correctly,' she laughed slightly, 'I love the stuff!' She wouldn't eat it now though; it was too early in the morning and she had just eaten anyway. Sienna said cheerfully, 'Just to let you know, i'm not usually an early riser, so don't be surprised if I come into the building extremely late in the morning.' A stupid habit; and she really needed to break it. She had no idea why she had told Jayden this, but that was probably because she had to let him know that she would never be in before 9.
'Getting back to business ...' she said, glancing down at his file once more, 'I see you've obviously had a lot of experience, so I really don't need to go in depth about your job, but if you have any questions feel free to ask. Anyway, basically you're gonna be doing a lot of work - but basic stuff like filing etc. And running after me,' she laughed at the last bit, 'Not really, but I do sometimes ask for a few errands to be run for me if i'm busy, and sometimes I need someone to come alone with me if i'm off to other parts of the country to work for the day. And that will probably be you,' Well, he wouldn't have to do much - just hang around, take a few notes and then he could just go see the sights or whatever.
Running her hand through her hair once more, she leaned back and said, 'Any questions?' with a small smile. She knew she could seem very sudden-like but she wanted the boring stuff out of the way. Then she could concentrate her energy on finding out some things about her new secretary.

Jamie took a quick loo karound the office. It wasn't how he would've decorated it, but that wasn't to say it wasn't pleasent. Jamie just had a thing about colours. The walls of his appartment weren't actually painted, but bewitched to change colour to the mood. Seeing as most of the time he was in a good mood, the walls stayed light blues and greens, occasionally going orange or yellow. He'd never actually found out what colours stood for, but that didn't matter, It was just cheerful to come home too.
'Sienna, or Mrs Freeman if you want to get technical,'
He nodded, inwardly scoulding himself. Well, then again, it was only polite to use the one you'd been taught, then use the names you were told to use. He wasn't exactly going to go up on his first day and say: 'Hi Sienna!', was he now? He might, in later moments call her boss by accident and probably slip back into calling her Ma'am or Madam every now and then but he was quite good at catching himself before he did something really stupid. So it was probably going to me Mrs. Freeman, because Sienna was a little informal for his training. Not that he minded using first names, really he prefered to be called Jamie rather than Jayden, but only his partner, Zina, had ever actually called him Jamie. His boss, McGee had stuck with Probie for a long time, even when he'd been working there for almost three years. After that it had just been Petrelli, Jayden on a very, very good day. He had to stop himself slipping into a slight memory lapse when he recalled Zina. To stop himself he swallowed, taking another look around the room. Zina had died whilst on a mission, shot. She'd been a d.amn good witch and no witch should die at the end of a muggle bullet. It just wasn't right.
'You've had more experience than me!'
He smiled, looking respectfully down. Were you supposed to look your employer in the eye. Not for long. He always had done. Showed confidence if they looked back he supposed. He raised his head, dark eyes meeting hers before taking another quick sweep around the room to glance at the photographs. All seemed to be moving, not suprising seeing as they weren't from an old Canon or Kodak camera that Jamie had gotten used to. A proper wizarding camera that took an instant sceneshot of the moment. "Seven years with the Ministry, but a lifetime with the Italiam Ministry. My father works for the Italiam Ministry." He answered, although she probably already knew from his file. He'd had a rather...unfamilylike run in with his father on an undercover mission a few years back. It had ended in a duel between father and son, matching in skill. Not a very pretty sight. The outcome is still something Jamie keeps to himself.
'You were told correctly, I love the stuff!'
He smiled again, good not a complete fool of yourself then Jayden. He really didn't like Sushi, he didn't really see the appealing quality in sliced up raw fish but each to her own he supposed. He didn't have to like it, just so long as she didn't offer him any. He couldn't exactly say no to his boss, that was just plain rude. But then again, he had a problem with saying yes to just about anything. Oh well, he'd learn.
'Just to let you know, i'm not usually an early riser, so don't be surprised if I come into the building extremely late in the morning.'
"Right." He said, nodding. Maybe the oppersite of him. "Is there anything you would like me to do if I ever get in...earlier than you, Ma', Mrs. Freeman?" He asked, stopping just before calling her Ma'am. He looked back up at the Minister, no eye contact was just weakness.
'Getting back to business ... I see you've obviously had a lot of experience, so I really don't need to go in depth about your job, but if you have any questions feel free to ask. Anyway, basically you're gonna be doing a lot of work - but basic stuff like filing etc. And running after me. No really, but I do sometimes ask for a few errands to be run for me if i'm busy, and sometimes I need someone to come alone with me if i'm off to other parts of the country to work for the day. And that will probably be you,'
Questions? Not not really. If he did he wouldn't hesitate to ask, he was very forthright about questions. Never bottle things up, they just explode a while later. He nodded to what she was saying, listening obidiently. He didn't mind running errands, he liked to run just about anything. And out of country work as always fun.
'Any questions?'
He shook his head. "I can't think of any, Mrs. Freeman." He replied, pulling his lapels slightly so his jacket lay in a neater fashion over his shoulders. This was usually when the employer started asking some rather hard questions. In his experience they usually concerned Zina, but maybe Mrs. Freeman would ignore them. He stood to his full height, his dark eyes glinting cheeruflly.

Sienna didn't blame him for not knowing what to call her. After all, not many people knew that Sienna preferred to be talked too informally than formally all the time. But she understood that newcomers did not know what Sienna liked or disliked; and she couldn't blame them for that. Most of the Ministry workers would either call her Minister, Sienna, and a few called her Mrs Freeman, and very rarely "Si" which was her nickname, and she liked to be called that anyway.
Seven years with the Ministry, but a lifetime with the Italiam Ministry. My father works for the Italiam Ministry.
Unlike most professionals, Sienna hadn't actually read his entire file, because she was too busy. (That was actually down to the amount of time she was sleeping, but no one needed to know that.) She was incredibly surprised at his experience, and so why wasn't applying for a higher job? He really did need too; he had the right qualifications and everything. Frowning slightly, she bit her lip and looked down at his file. She skimmed through the pages until she came to a particularly interesting bit. She read for a few minutes, and all i'm gonna say is a few words like "Zina" and "mission" was included.
Right. Is there anything you would like me to do if I ever get in...earlier than you, Ma', Mrs. Freeman?
She smiled secretly, glad that he wasn't calling her Ma'am anymore. Give it a few months and he would no longer be calling her Mrs Freeman as well; just Sienna. She knew eventually he would give in and call her by her first name. Shrugging slightly at his question, she replied, 'Not much. Just the usual; check the memos and stuff. And if there is any important memo waiting for me, do interrupt me sleep. I missing out on things.'
I can't think of any, Mrs. Freeman.
She smiled and nodded, standing up also. 'Well, if you don't have any enquirers I suggest you can get back to work,' checking her watch she said cheerfully, 'The other secretary's will be here soon; and beware, they are a happy bunch!' she laughed slightly. They were all friends with Sienna; and didn't hesitate to call her Si or anything similar. Hopefully Jayden would learn that she did not think it was wrong for her staff to call her by her nickname.
Looking back down at his file, she frowned again and said quietly, 'Oh Jayden ... Wait, it doesn't matter,' she added. Sitting back down, she started to flick through the various memos left on her desk overnight. One was about a new Muggle Studies Professor. 'Ah, Jayden!' she called him back, 'In the next couple of days or so, would you please mind checking out the new Muggle Studies Professor? Just a routine check; make sure there is nothing they overlooked when they accepted his application to become the Professor.'

He waited in silence, keeping her eyecontact when she looked up from her chair to glance at him. She was the first employee he'd had that hadn't cringed away or stuttered under his rather...inquisitorial stare. He tended to intimidate people, I guess the Field Agent had never left him. Look them in the eye, if they look back thier telling the truth, if they either look down or to the left they were lying. Sometimes you had to go back to the good old Councilling and watch what people actually do. You use the left side of your brain to lie, so look to your left, you're lying.
'Not much. Just the usual; check the memos and stuff. And if there is any important memo waiting for me, do interrupt me sleep. I missing out on things.'
Okay, so he was supposed to wake her up. Right, he could do that. He wondered if he could simply apparate into her bedroom. Oh wait, bad thought Jamie. She was married and you didn't just apparate into a lady's bedroom did you? No, not manners. Maybe he's just make it rain, or thunder, lightning. Anything nice and loud. Or he could just send an owl? But should he got in person? Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, he had to say something. "Of course." He said, nodding. Well, he'd figure it out one way or another.
'Well, if you don't have any enquirers I suggest you can get back to work. The other secretary's will be here soon; and beware, they are a happy bunch!'
What no questions? She wasn't going ask about his rather suspicious nervous breakdown? The um...murder? Apparently not. Well, no-one had actually asked about the murder, because they'd taken it to be suicide. But maybe they were just afraid of what the truth behind it way. Well, it went something like this:
The night Zina died, Jamie was stuck in the ship container. His wand had been snapped in half and he'd taken a bullet to the shoulder. He wasn't in a fit state to do anything really. He was found by night patrols on the second night and was taken to the nearest hospital. He was in trauma for two days, ICU for a week before being discharged into the capable hands of his brother, Nathan. Nate took him back to Italy, and he bascially stayed with them for a few weeks. He was pretty bashed up, looking like a punch bag. Claire was still in her first year and didn't come home for the Easter Holidays. It took about a month for Jamie to recover fully, but still had the fighting spirit. He was going to take revenge. Revenge, he knew, was a stupid way to resolve matters, but he couldn't help himself, he needed to find her killer. He went back to France, but didn't resign as soon as he got there. He talked to his director, Shepard. He told Jamie that she'd been killed by muggle gang fighters whilst caught in a cross fire. He was lying, he looked down to his left. Jamie interagated him, he was going to get the truth out of him. Finally he found the truth. He kept his voice calm as his exterior and shot his boss with the same 44 callibre shot gun that had killed Zina. Still he made it look like suicide, as any good officer could.
No-one had very asked for the true story, or if they speculated about what it could be, they didn't really want to know. Just in case they made the same mistake. He nodded and turned, ready to make his exit and get back to his empty desk, he still didn't have a great deal to do.
'Oh Jayden ... Wait, it doesn't matter,'
He turned again, one hadn onthe door post. "Minister?" He inquired. His dark eyes meeting hers again.
'Ah, Jayden! In the next couple of days or so, would you please mind checking out the new Muggle Studies Professor? Just a routine check; make sure there is nothing they overlooked when they accepted his application to become the Professor.'
"Of course." He said with a smile. He thought back, trying to remember. "Terranova, right?" He asked, trying to recall if this was right. He was good at names, but he liked to check. "And, Minister, you can call me Jamie, if you like." He said with a slight smile.

Sienna was not one to delve into the past of her employees records. She didn't think it was right; so she would read it but never confront or ask about it. By that, I mean to do with what Sienna had just read in Jayden's file about a certain Zina. A traumatic experience by far, so Sienna was not going to ask Jayden about it unless he mentioned it. And she doubted he would. She'd probably go do a little research by herself without having to ask him. A bit rude, maybe, but Sienna preferred that to asking about an upsetting memory.
Of course.
Out of the hundreds of new employees she had seen in the past, Jayden certainly said the fewest words. She had never known someone to talk so little and ask next to nothing questions. But then he did have a lot of experience, and probably knew all the ropes already. To be honest she wasn't surprised - judging by his file he obviously knew everything you needed to know to be in this job. And lets face it, being a secretary isn't exactly one of the hardest jobs around.
Reading further into his file, Sienna came across a disturbing bit of information. However, her thoughts were focused about the other page she had just read, so she didn't take in what she had just read from the page she was looking at now. To be honest, it was pretty lucky she hadn't otherwise this time she would really be asking personal questions. Give it a few days and when she came across his folder again and read it properly, she defiantly would be asking the questions.
Minister? Of course. Terranova, right? And, Minister, you can call me Jamie, if you like.
Sienna chose not to ask what she had been about too say, and instead listened to what he said next. Smiling, she nodded and said, 'Someone like that, and best of all you pretty much get the day off to visit the school. And, Jamie, alright,' she said with another smile. At least he wasn't being as formal as before. And as Sienna liked to put it, they had broken down a barrier to a start of a new friendship? Whatever, it didn't matter because Sienna was practically friends with the entire population of workers in the Ministry.

Jamie could help himself, he looked around at the pictures lining the walls. Most of them depicted the Minister herself with her, well what he believed to be her, family. Three children and a husband. He'd had a feeling he'd seen the eldest looking of the children at Beauxbaton, when he'd been to visit Claire, but he couldn't be sure. There were a lot of students at Beauxbaton. He had an urge to ask her about her family, but it didn't really seem right.
The Field-Agent-At-Heart glanced back at his desk, he would decorate it, he didn't really follow rules about dress code or decoration. He liked his desk to change colour, like the walls of his flat. Usually when people came in, his desk changed to the colour of his mood. He could still rmemeber the day his former boss, Gibbs, had entered his office with the good news about his promotion. His desk, and in those days his walls, had changed from thier usual pale green to bright, sky blue. It had taken him by suprise, but he still liked it. It helped to see if someone came in in the morning with a bad thought, it always went black. It also helped with interrigation, if they were lying, and knew it, the walls would say, and turn grey. Good trick that.
He knew the exact structure of his file, and knew what page the...parts he didn't want read outloud were. As the Minister flicked through the pages, and seemed to pause at one, he pulled his lapels back into place over his shoulder, an odd habit he had when he knew the worst could be coming. When she moved straight passed it, he raised an eyebrow but only for a moment. Nothing wrong with not asking questions. He took a look out of the open window behind the Ministers desk. He liked windows, he liked the outdoors. And since most windows showed the outdoors, he liked windows. Unless they were these knew fashioned winodws that just showed something nice, like beaches and blue skies. That was just boring. If it was raining outside, he wanted to see rain, and rain he would see. He didn't have any strange bewitched windows, just normal window windows.
'Someone like that, and best of all you pretty much get the day off to visit the school. And, Jamie, alright,'
He smiled. "My niece goes to Beauxbaton, Claire, I haven't seen her for a while." He nodded, she would be about 15 now, yes fifteen. He glanced at the photographs again. "I don't mean to be rude, but are these your children?" He asked, gesturing to the photgraphs on the wall.

Sienna was very much a family person as well as a worker, and she loved her family very much. Not having any parents of her own - and having to grow up in an orphanage - she was very protective over the kids, and always took responsibility for their mistakes. But as soon as they reached the age of 7, she knew she couldn't be responsible for their mistakes anymore. It had been hard to let them go to Beauxbatons; but she did accept it.
My niece goes to Beauxbaton, Claire, I haven't seen her for a while. I don't mean to be rude, but are these your children?
Sienna smiled proudly, looking back at the many photos that hang on the wall. One of them just had the three children on their own; pulling funny faces and having a laugh with each other. Si liked to think that she could always take time off work to be with her family - being Minister was very hard when your kids were growing up. Sometimes you could feel as if you didn't see enough of them. That was why she was given so much work abroad during the summer holidays; that way she could have half a holiday & half a work day with her kids. It worked out brilliantly and her children preferred that to staying home all summer.
'Yes,' she smiled again, 'Kerry, Adele and Adam,' she indicated each one on a photo behind her, 'Kerry's 15, Adele 13 and Adam's 11. How old is your niece, Claire, then?' she asked warmly. Sienna could recall Kerry or Adele mentioning a Claire once before; but she was pretty rubbish at remembering the names of their friends as they seemed to go through them every couple of months. Adam had only just started Beauxbatons; and Sienna was expecting a letter from him any time soon.
She glanced out of her window; and was glad to see it still looked quite warm. Good - she was planning to take a walk about midday. And as long as the weather stayed warm, and it didn't rain, she could go ahead with that plan. She had always made sure that all the windows in the buildings were not enchanted. There wasn't much point as the building wasn't underground - like the English one - so they might as well have windows looking out over Paris.

One Step Away
Jamie ran a hand through his neatly combed hair. Within the next hour or so, it would stop being as neat and tidy and would definatly start up again, usually just messy, fluff. He never went in looking like he'd just walked through a bush backwards, but neat was never his forte. He may look tidy and smart now, but after a while, he'd lose the plain white shirt and revert to a normal t-shirt. He liked his jackets, and usually came in with either the grey or the white slung over his shoulder. He became much more casual as time went on. Shoes to trainers. He prefered to run in trainers and being a Field Agent never left you. Just incase something happened and you needed to run, always wear a pair of good shoes. He never knew why women in the Department of Mysteries wore heels, you couldn't run with them, and Mysteries was the most hit Department. Except of course for the Minister. Myabe that was why he'd taken this job. Almost like an unpaid body guard. The Minister was, naturally, the most targeted person in the Ministry, so that was always a way for a bit of excitement.
'Yes, Kerry, Adele and Adam. Kerry's 15, Adele 13 and Adam's 11. How old is your niece, Claire, then?'
Yes, Jamie could recall the names. Freeman might not be a very commen name, or it might be, but the first names with the second names were undeniable. Especially Kerry Freeman. Yes, Claire was now fifteen, same age as Kerry. He could remember Claire talking about her. Maybe they were in the same house, but you never know. "Claire's fifteen, same age as Kerry." He said nodding. Yep, definatly, that might've been why he'd heard about this job opening, through Claire and obviously through Kerry. Claire sent letters home very now and then, and, being the good uncle he was, he replied to them if any were adressed to him. Always fun, right?
The view of Paris caught his eye once more. It really was beautiful. It reminded him of Bolsana, his home town. Except he'd been born in England, sort of a strange accident. But he'd grown up in Bolsana, mostly just playing in the lake down the hill from his house. Views weren't actually that interesting, but they were just, nice. Horrible word, nice, not very useful. It didn't do anything and to him it sounded sarcastic.
He glanced back at Sienna, dark eyes glittering. Okay, he knew it wasn't his place, but oh well. I douted he would get fired on his first day it he asked. "May I ask about your husband?" He was just interested to see what sort of man the Minister for Magic went for. He didn't really know why, he was just interested. That was so Italian of him wasn't it?

Sienna did not have many t.hreats to her life; and even if she did she could take care of them by herself. She was an accomplished witch and would be able to look after herself in a fight or duel. However, in the past Sienna had found several people being given jobs close to Si by her husband to make sure that they looked after her. You could imagine that Sienna didn't appreciate that at all, but in fact sometimes bodyguards could be useful and helpful. Looking at Jayden's file, Sienna decided that she wouldn't mind a bodyguard after all. Even if he was meant to be your secondary secretary.
Claire's fifteen, same age as Kerry.
Sienna nodded and smiled; 'The prime age for the attitudes to kick in,' she said dryly with another small smile. Kerry could still act sweet but Si often felt her oldest child had changed dramatically over the years. She couldn't place her finger on what it was; after all, Kerry still acted the same as she always did. But there was defiantly something different about Kerry yet Sienna could not guess or figure out what it was. She had tried discussing it with her husband, but he hadn't agreed with Sienna's thoughts so she had soon given up.
Sitting back down again, Sienna was still observing her new secretary. She was also clearing up the memos that had been dumped on her desk overnight. They never learned that Sienna had to be organized and neat; they never did learn. She was constantly reminding people to put all new paperwork and memos in her tray, yet they never did.
May I ask about your husband?
'Oh, my husband, Bradley, yes you may if you wish,' she responded with another one of her smiles without looking up at him. She didn't mind the questions at all; in fact she sometimes enjoyed conversations with new employees of hers.

Ahh, young Claire. Could you call fifteen young? Well it was younger than somethings, like mountains, so yes, he could call her young. He was only in his twenties himslef, so not much older. Nathan was only 36, Fiona only 35. Young family. Fiona had Claire when she was just twenty, Nathan twenty one. Jamie had been...wait a second for the maths, twelve. Much younger than Nathan, eight years younger. A big gap for children, but he had a younger brother and an older sister. Kitty, who was now married to Will Hampshire and living in Vienna. Kitty Hampshire, a good ring to it. Zach Petrelli, twenty-one now, six years younger than Jamie. There was a pretty large gap between Kitty and Zach, almost fifteen years. Nearly all the time Claire had been alive. Odd age gaps, though.
'The prime age for the attitudes to kick in,'
"Exactly." He replied with a smile. "I can remember my teenage years, I wasn't exactly an angel myself." He didn't think it right to add, yes I wasn't an angel I actually was sent to prison for a year when I was nineteen. That had been in his file, but for some mysterioud reason wasn't any more. He had a sneaky feeling that Nathan had had something to do with that. Nathan liked to keep the family record clean. He was doing well so far. He'd given Zach a job at the Ministry, basically found Will Hampshire and introduced him to Kitty. He liked to think of himself as someone to solve problems. Not bad he was, he just hadn't been able to get to Jamie yet. He was the rebel of the family. Working for a different Ministry along side the one person who was Nathan's one big rival. The leader of the closest Ministry and he'd always had something against Sienna Freeman and Jamie hadn't though it his business to find out why. Families could have thier secrets, he had his own. He knew why he'd taken this job and it wasn't the one written on his application form.
'Oh, my husband, Bradley, yes you may if you wish,'
He smiled back. What was he supposed to ask? Where they met, how and such. Well, if he was going to probe he might as well be thorough. "Where'd you meet, Bradley was it?" He asked, absentmindedly running a hand through his dark hair, messing it up just that little bit more. He always looked better messed up anyway. He really wanted to ask if she knew Nathan, for he was still interested in the vendetta Nathan had for Mrs. Freeman. Well, first things first, keep them talking in a casual fashion before dropping a casual remark about Nathan Petrelli. There were lots of Petrellis and he knew it didn't say he was related to him on his file, she might already know, but then again she might not. Always worth a try.

Unfortunately the only family Sienna knew and had was her twin sister, children and husband ... not to mention her husbands side of the family. Sienna had grown up without knowing what parents were like, so did not have that advantage like other children. Her twin sister, Alisha, was still not married and did not have a family like Sienna, so Alisha was far more lonely. And Sienna's children were growing up now into teenagers that wouldn't want their mother near them all the time. Bradley didn't care about that though; he was far more concerned with his career at this moment in time.
Exactly. I can remember my teenage years, I wasn't exactly an angel myself.
Sienna laughed slightly and smiled, 'Your file says the complete opposite!' From what she had read so far he had a perfect and clean record and was pretty much a good person. Si's file was like that - apart from the mishap she had while she was 15. That included almost setting a classroom alight. That had been put on her record, yet she doubted that affected the decision to vote Sienna as Minister. Anyway, back to the subject in hand, Jayden was pretty much perfect. His file was clean and she doubted he would be declined in any job he applied for.
Where'd you meet, Bradley was it?
She nodded, 'I met him while he was on holiday here. We just bumped into each other and just got talking. Not love at first sight though,' she laughed slightly. Her and Bradley were still going as strong as ever. Then she wondered why he was asking her all this; and then realized his surname. Ah, a Petrelli. The Petrelli's and Freemans had never got along. And since Sienna had married Bradley she had seemingly dragged herself into the family feuds unwillingly. Nathan Petrelli - at least, that was what she thought his name was - seemed to h.ate Sienna for no good reason. She'd have a talk with Bradley one day and try to find out how the family feud had started; despite it going on for generations. However, now she started to think about it and couldn't understand why a Petrelli was working for her and seemed to get along with her. She'd look into it eventually.

'Your file says the complete opposite!
Jamie smiled, laughing softly. Oh good old Nathan. He loved his brother, but just couldn't understand the whole Petrelli-Freeman fight. It had gone on for way too long, so this was his way of extending the olive branch. He knew his brother didn't like it, but the letter he'd sent him explained everything. It was confusing, yes, but what came first? His job or his family. He would always say his family. Whatever happened they would be there. Claire, Nathan, Fiona. All of them. Claire was turning out more and more like her father every time he saw her. Nathan was as determinded as ever, fighting away for his cause. Fiona was always cooking and working in turn, but she always seemed to have enough free time. He never had any free time. He liked to run, but to be in work on time he had to get up in the early hours to get his morning run in. He also liked to cook, strangely enough, but cooking for one was oftern very dull, so he was just good with his wand and a microwave. He smiled again, leaning against the doorpost. "I never believe all I read in files, they tend to be tampered with." He finished, absentmindedly messing up his hair once more.
'I met him while he was on holiday here. We just bumped into each other and just got talking. Not love at first sight though,'
He smiled, nodding. "The best ways are always the ones you don't expect." He, personally, hadn't had the luck to meet anyone like that yet. He hadn't really looked very hard. He didn't really know what he was looking for at the moment. H.ell, he was only in his twenties, he had the rest of his life ahead of him. Actually the statement before about not meeting anyone was a lie. He had met someone, a long time ago, but she was gone, far under the ground with the pale lettering of the gravestone reading Zina Zepharelli. Long before this he'd tried to forget. Maybe that was someone you just couldn't.
He really couldn't help himself any more. "Mrs. Freeman, by any chance do you know a Nathan Petrelli?" Dammit, dammit, dammit. He'd tried so hard not to ask! And anyway what sort of response was he supposed to get, what was he thinking he would get? Yes I do. That's what he expected, she wouldn't go into depth, kind of thats what he wanted but the question hadn't asked that, had it? Oh well, it was a lost cause.
